Each year the UU Congregation at Montclair adopts a school in Newark and makes sure that about 200+ kids get a holiday gift and a book. For some of these kids it's the only gift they'll get this holiday season. Orphaned Pets was happy to assist the Congregation in providing toys, books and items requested by the kids.

What a nice morning we had at the Reindeer Run. The weather was perfect for this event and many people stopped by our table after the run. Thank You to all that came out to enjoy the run, shopped for their pets and offered support for fostered pets.

One of our volunteers and her co-worker held a two-day sale at work benefiting Orphaned Pets. A good time was had by all. A Big Thank You for arranging this and all the work with setup and our Thanks for all those that stopped by and helped support our homeless pets.

Orphaned Pets fosters will be the benefactor for the Partners in Caring event at Shoprite in West Caldwell. Supply donations of dry and wet food, treats, etc. would be appreciated by the babies we care for in our foster program. Thank you for your help and for being a caring partner.

Mark you calendar for August 24 as we will again be celebrating our best friends with dog portrait sessions--The Dog Days of Summer. You will receive beautiful portrait of your best friend and we will contribute a large portion of the proceeds to a great, local organization: Orphaned Pets of West Caldwell.

The $79 fee includes a 15 minute session of your dog and a beautifully printed 8x10 portrait. Half of your fee will be donated to Orphaned Pets. Book your session soon. This event does sell out quickly! Just give us a call.

We will also have a special price list so you can order additional prints. 20% of those sales will also go to Orphaned Pets. You can bring up to two additional dogs for an additional $35. I hope to hear from you soon.

On September 1, 2004 and October 20, 2004, Onyx and Breezy, two beloved Labrador Retrievers passed away at the ages of 13 and 7 respectively.

The family created The Onyx & Breezy Foundation to ensure that Onyx and Breezy’s memory will live on through the foundation’s support of endeavors serving the needs of animals.

On Sunday, October 7th, Orphaned Pets joined the Celebration of Pets in Verona sponsored by the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit. The event was held on the Verona Town Hall square and attended by enthusiastic dog owners and their pets. The square was filled with dog groomers, photo studios, vendors with handmade gifts including homemade dog treats along with many rescue groups. The highlight of the afternoon was the dog parade and awards given for the best-dressed dog. A special thanks to the Caldwell University students from the Circle K club for their help!

Orphaned Pets, Inc. was excited to be one of the sponsors of the 16th Annual Fallen Heroes 5K Memorial Run. Our donation is supporting Rebuilding Warriors, an organization that provides service dogs at no cost to our Nations Heroes with PTSD, with or without additional injury such as Traumatic Brain Injury or amputation. We believe in their mission to support our brave Veterans, Active Duty Service Members and First Responders.

This event was held at Lake Como, NJ on Saturday, September 8, 2018. Scooter did not run as she was busy on the side, hosting a table of literature and items for sale. After the run Scooter met with everyone that participated in the event and BBQ then relaxed with Debbie, Lauren and Cathy in the Orphaned Pet’s designated cabana! Great time was had by all. 

This was a great success!!
